Born Xolisa Mvula, now known by her stage name Lady X, is most recognised for her warm and soulful voice. Lady X hails from Port Elizabeth, it was not long before she appeared on stages as a performer. Performing at shows like “Poetry Delight” in 2008, also showcasing at the “Celebrating Black Lifestyle Festival” in the following year she appeared at the ALIYANA Magazine Launch (Cape Town) highlighting her vocal prowess.
In 2010 Lady X penned “XiVumba” and recorded the now hit track with Mr Cee from Blackwhole Entertainment forming a powerful duo that yielded another banging track titled “Get Lifted”.
Lady X tells that being the opening act for American/South African singing starlet Goapele, known for songs like “Closer to My Dreams” remains her greatest musical achievement to date, Goapele was brought to Mzansi by UPE Entertainment in November 2010, an honour Lady X will cherish as she works on her 2012 album.
In 2011 YFM Dj Mo Flava, noticed Lady X and proved to like “XiVumba”, remixed it and included the track on his latest House Compilation CD! Xivumba is fast proving to be a greay hit with the listeners demanding heavy rotation of the song on the Youth Radio Station. Metro FM has now followed suit including “XiVumba” onto their playlist. The duo performed their hit song for the very first time on Yo-TV last week, followed by an electric performance at THE BANK, last night at Tholi B’s Birthday extravaganza. The entire crowd could not contain their excitement chanting the lyrics of Xivumba as Lady X and Mo took to the stage!
The pair begins to shoot the video for “XiVumba” in the next two weeks.
